Lettice Pierce Bryan Homemaker
April 30 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 6 PM at the Lincoln County Public Library, the Kentucky Humanities presents Cynthia Resor as Lettice Pierce Bryan, Kentucky Homemaker. This program tells the story of Lettice Bryan who was a wife, mother of fourteen children, and aspiring author in the early days of Kentucky history. She is best known as the author of The Kentucky Housewife, published in 1841. It was one of the first and most comprehensive Southern cookbooks and included household advice and practical guidance to women navigating the challenges of frontier life in Kentucky. Her story is one of quiet determination, domestic devotion, and literary ambition. This program is free and open to the public. We invite everyone to attend.
